The RareEndangered Plants Area covers an area of 1.5 hacollects rareendangered plants more than 70 species. Most of the plants in this area are unique to our countryare endangered by destruction of their ecological environments, including Sinojackia xylocarpa, Euptelea pleiosperma, Liriodendron chinense, Sinowilsonia henryi, Tapiscia sinensis, Yulania amoena, Yulania cylindrica, Malus sieversii, alycanthus chinensisso on. Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Ginkgo biloba in the garden are “living fossils” relict plant of the Tertiary Period.  The Cerasus × yedoensis in the garden were a national gift to our country by former Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka during his visit to China when the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations was realized in 1972.
