The Perennial Flower Garden was built in the 1970swas rebuilt in 2005 with the support of the Knowledge Innovation Project Phase II of the Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, covering an area of 0.9 hectares. There are a varieties of flowersvines planted in the garden, nearly 600 species, belonging to 138 genera46 families,the number of species ranks first among similar parks in the country. The plants were planted complied to its ecological habitsdistributed in different areas, such as full-sun plants area, shade plants area, bulbous-flower area, rock plants areavine plants area. Famous sightseeing sites are formed, such as “松石寻芳、玉兰迎春、古藤新韵”.

Tulipa gesneriana, lilium brownii var. viridulum, narcissus pseudonarcissus and many other species of bulbous-flower were planted in the garden, as well as wild plants with typical Chinese characteristic such as Cardiocrinum giganteum, sdedum. Besides, plants of new species that cultivated through long-term working of researchers were also showed in this garden, such as hemerocallis fulva, clematis florida, aster novi-belgii, iris tectorum, phlox drummondiiso on.
