The journal department manages six academic journalsone popular science magazine. Among which, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology（JIPB）Journal of SystematicsEvolution（JSE）indexed by SCI rank Q1 in plant sciences, their 2-year impact factors are 7.0614.098, respectively in the Journal Citation Report 2021. Three Chinese academic journals have always been in a leading position in the field of biology in China. 

The library subscribed 47 literature databases, providing articles download services, book loan, interlibrary loan, resource recommendation, information utilization skills trainingother kinds of information service. In 2021, the library provided services for more than 1,000 visitors，finished 23 paper citation reportsnovelty assessment reports, provided more than 350 full articlesloaned 65 books from other libraries for readers. In addition, the library enriched 109 new books, more than 2,500 thesespostdoc reports.

NSII is becoming the largest biological specimen information platform in Asia, including plants, animals, rockmineral fossilspolar resources. In 2021, NSII added 489,300 standard records, 501,900 specimen photos, 411 volumes of literaturechronicles,518,000 specimen records on the Internet. NSII deeply cleaned up 50,000 key regional datacomplete the landmark sorting. Newly launched 20 topics, including Web Index of LiteraturesHerbaria Related to Plant Taxonomy of China, 3D resources of teaching specimens, distribution system of natural resource object unique identifier (NOI),construction of weed specimen platform based on quarantine seed identificationidentification. Now, NSII website has 16.36 million specimen records, 6.74 million specimen photos, 16.1 million color photos of species, 100000 documentary chroniclesmore than 200 topics.
