Covering a land area of 5000 square meter, Plant Museum was built in 1996 with construction area of 2670 square meters. In 2021, the renovation of the Museum was completed, which included environmental beautificationnew exhibitions. The renovated museum is composed of three parts: exhibition area, activity roomsoffice area.
Taking “PlantsHuman life” as the main clue, the permanent exhibition focuses on six sections including food plants, beverage plants, fiber plants, timber plants, medicinal plantsenergy plants. By displaying more than 500 exhibitsoffering interactive multimedia experiences, the permanent exhibition demonstrates the wide application of plants in human lifereveals the close relationship between plantshumans.
Botanical Art Gallery is a place of collectingexhibiting high-quality botanical art all over the world. From the aesthetic perspective, it can shorten the distance between humansplants. From the science perspective, it can spread knowledge of plants.
With area of 215 square meters, the activity rooms carry out activities through all the year, such as scientific inquiry lectures, series of themed coursesexploring activities, so as to spreadpopularize scientific knowledge to tourists.
Based on exhibitions, the Plant Museum designs a series of science activities, by combining activities with florescence of key plantsfeatures of biological diversity. Besides that the Plant Museum endeavors to carry out the work of science popularizationenhance public scientific literacy by closely focusing on building an ecological civilization, so that the public can better understand the important role of plants in their human life.
