The Popular Science Education Center, located in the center of the Beijing Botanical Garden, Institute of Botany, CAS,with an indoor coverage area of 183 square meters (additionally 280 square meters silicified wood square are equipped), is an important science popularization base. The exhibitions are displayed with botany at its corehas distinctive features of the discipline.

It is composed of five parts, including: the “Evolution of Plants”, the “PlantsHuman Life”, the “Culture of Plants”, the “Learning Plants”the “Approaching the Microcosm of Plants”.

In the “Evolution of Plants” section, it introduces the evolution process of plants from low to high. In the “PlantsHuman Life” section, it revels the close relationship between plantshuman’s daily lifethe medicinal valueusage of plantstheir influences on human. In the “Culture of Plants” section, it explains cultural connotations of plants in the long-term production and living of human. In the “Learning Plants” section, it gives comprehensive introduction of plants from its components, such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, genetics, etc., further more, a new kind of experience is added---to observe plants slices via microscope. In the “Approaching the Microcosm of Plants” section, it takes microscopes that used by scientists of generations as the starting point to study the scientific principles of various microscopes, such as stereoscopic microscope, optical microscope, fluorescence microscope, electron microscopeso on.

Besides 3D model of “ the Plant Evolution Tree”large-scale video playback equipment, a 300-minute education video of plant is also provided to enrich the form of science popularizationfurther satisfy the desire of visitors to explore the plant world.
