crabapple Garden

The Crabapple Garden was originally planned in 1987completed in 1992. After further extension in 2010, the garden now covers an area of 3.17 ha with a collection of over 800 crabapples of 80 cultivars, including the famous Chinese Midget Crabapple, Hall Crabapple, Hubei Crabapplesome excellent ornamental cultivars for fruitflower from all over the world.
The west part of the garden is higher than that of the east, making the terrain wave upsdowns. It has open forestgrassland,has also crabapple trees huddled together adding extra color to the garden. Even though it is man-made landscape, plantation with insouciance still tricks you to marvel at the nature scraft. With chinese classical landscape style, the east garden is centered by a Qing dynasty style wooden pavilion "Qi Yin", means begging for the shadow of spring to protect the crabapple from sun, Around the pavilion, different shapes of stone craved with crabapple theme poem were scattered in the bushes, creating an unique Chinese landscape painting vibe. Extended west garden looks more modern than that of the east, in which, the lawn like a green carpetreflect the beauty of the crabapples.This area was mainly designed for collection.
In addition, several Cotoneaster plantssome ground covers were also planted in the garden. Crabapple Garden is not only suitable for spring flower appreciation, but also for the autumn fruit observation. The beauty of nature can be fully seen in this garden for both seasons.
